Dr Mia van Wyk

Dr Mia Van Wyk obtained the MB ChB degree from the University of Pretoria in 1995. In addition, she is a qualified and Accredited Travel Medicine provider. She has 25 years of experience as a general practitioner. For the last 12 years, she has practiced at Intercare Woodhill in Pretoria and was one of the practice's directors before joining Intercare Castle Gate. She enjoys helping patients physically and emotionally, seeing that a person is a body, mind, and soul.

Dr Patricia Zondo

General medical practitioner

Dr Patricia Zondo completed her MBChB at the University of the Free State in 2017. She has experience in emergency medicine as well as acute physical rehabilitation. Dr Zondo completed a course on ECG interpretation as well as a course on the management of spinal cord injuries. She has a special interest in health education, illness prevention and early detection and management of chronic illnesses. She enjoys spending quality time with her friends and family in her free time. She also partakes in a mentorship program for high school learners.

Dr Anil Ramjee

General medical practitioner

Dr Ramjee finished a Bachelor of Science and medical degree at Wits University in 1993. After graduating he worked at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Johannesburg for 2 years before pursuing a career in Family Medicine. He relocated to Cape Town and has been in private practice since 1998. He also held a part-time lecturer post at the University of Cape Town Family Medicine Division for many years. In 2005 he obtained a Family Medicine Diploma cum laude from Stellenbosch University. In 2018 he obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Diabetes with distinction from the University of South Wales. Dr Ramjee is also a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians (South Africa). In 2016 he joined the Intercare group practice in Cape Town where he works as a Family Physician. Dr Ramjee also serves on the Intercare Clinical Advisory Committee.

Dr Francin Booysen

General medical practitioner

Dr Francin Booysen graduated from the University of Pretoria in 2017. She also obtained a diploma in HIV Management in 2021 & a diploma in Internal Medicine. Dr Booysen is passionate about treating acute illnesses and improving the management of chronic medical conditions in patients such as heart and lung disease, diabetes, HIV, and mental health conditions. During the Covid-19 pandemic, she worked as a frontline doctor treating critically ill patients. Dr Booysen enjoys long-distance running and spending time with her family in her free time.

Dr Ilana Joubert

General medical practitioner

Dr Ilana Joubert obtained the BSC Degree in Human Physiology and Biochemistry, thereby qualifying as a biokineticist. She furthered her studies and received the MBChB degree in 2005. In addition, Dr Joubert completed a Diploma in Diabetes Care in 2016 through the University of South Whales. Dr Joubert has a keen interest in nutrition and exercise. She enjoys all fields of medicine and has an individualised approach to patient care. She is passionate about women’s health, paediatric care, diabetes, minor surgical procedures, and trauma. As a mother of three little girls, she finds working with children extremely rewarding.

Dr Rouxle Schmeisser

Dr Rouxle Schmeisser graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2020. After graduating, she completed her internship and community service at Tembisa Hospital, focusing on surgery and paediatrics. Dr Schmeisser has a special interest in paediatrics and women’s health, including breast cancer awareness and minor surgical procedures. She believes in a holistic approach to patient care, ensuring comprehensive wellness for her patients. Outside of her medical practice, Dr Schmeisser enjoys spending time outdoors, running, and hiking.

Dr Lourens Viljoen

General medical practitioner

Dr Lourens Viljoen earned his MBChB from the University of Pretoria in 2007. In 2011, he relocated to Canada, where he practised for over a decade across a broad spectrum of medical disciplines, including primary care, hospital medicine, obstetrics, geriatrics, and palliative care. In 2015, he received Certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP) and was appointed as a Clinical Instructor at the University of British Columbia, where he trained Family Practice Residents in both Obstetrics and Family Medicine. In 2022, Dr Viljoen returned to South Africa, where he now focuses on providing compassionate, patient-centred care. Outside of his medical practice, Dr Viljoen is an avid runner and cherishes time with his wife and their five children.

Dr Jess Burgess

Dr Burgess is particularly interested in sports medicine, women’s health, and sexual health for both men and women. Dr Damien Bronkhorst

Dr Damien Bronkhorst obtained a BSc degree in Human Anatomy, Physiology and Genetics from the University of Cape Town and a MBBCh degree from the University of the Witwatersrand. In addition, he gained a Diploma in HIV Management through the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa. He is particularly interested in young adult health, chronic disease management, and preventative medicine. Dr Bronkhorst believes in combining clinical excellence, sound governance, and technological innovation to deliver patient-centred care. In 2024, his dedication to the profession was acknowledged when he was selected as a finalist for the Rising Star Healthcare Practitioner of the Year at the African Health Excellence Awards. He is fluent in English and Afrikaans, and conversational in Zulu. In his free time, he enjoys staying active, discovering new brunch spots, and spending time with friends and family.

Dr Sebastiaan Pretorius

Dr Sebastiaan Pretorius graduated from the University of Pretoria in 2010 and brings a broad range of experience as a local doctor in Milnerton. I am currently on an extended period of leave to recover from a foot surgery, which was successfully performed on 14 July 2025. I expect to return to work on 1 September 2025.
