Dr Jacques Lightfoot qualified as a dentist from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2000, where he won several best student awards and the prize for the most distinguished student of the year. He practiced as a dentist in the United Kingdom for eight years. During this time, he was attached to the department of orthodontics at a local hospital and provided treatment at a local conscious sedation referral practice. He continually develops his skills as a clinician and has a particular interest in orthodontics, oral implantology, and -surgery. Dr Lightfoot strives to treat each patient with care and respect to achieve results that fulfill their needs and expectations. He enjoys farming and spending time outdoors with his family.

Dr. Christo Slabbert (B.Ch.D) graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in 1994. He worked in the United Kingdom for 24 years until 2018. Since his return to South Africa he has been working at Intercare Mall@55 and has now joined the Glenfair practice. Dr. Slabbert has a special interest in Endodontics and Cosmetic dentistry but enjoy all fields of dentistry and he is an accredited provider for Active Aligners and MAX Mouthguards.

Dr. Learongoa Matee-Masipa graduated as a dentist (BDS) at Medunsa in 1978. She joined the Orthodontic Department in Pietersburg Hospital. She has a special interest in interceptive and Minor Orthodontics as well as Paediatric Dentistry (incl. Treating kids in theatre).

Dr Cilius van der Merwe (BmedSci, BChD) graduated from the University of Pretoria in 1998. He worked in the UK until 2004 and spent the following 16 years in private practice in Faerie Glen and Garsfontein before joining Intercare. Dr van der Merwe has a special interest in endodontics, but enjoys all fields of dentistry where he can contribute to the well-being of patients. He enjoys music, sport, camping and spending time with his family.

Dr Johannes Lourens grew up in Riversdale and graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in 2002. He proceeded to work at a referral dental clinic at 2 Military Hospital, Wynberg. There he was fortunate to work alongside specialists in all facets of dentistry gaining valuable experience. A highlight during this time was being the commissioned dentist on the SAS Tafelberg navy vessel on a diplomatic mission to the island states of Haïti and Jamaica. Dr Lourens also completed his post-grad diploma in Implantology from the University of Western Cape. In 2005 Johannes and his wife, Marilize, were both given the opportunity to work in the Netherlands. This enabled them to attend several international symposiums on modern dentistry while also working in their private practice in the beautiful student town of Groningen.

Dr Kulsum Ahmed graduated from the University of Witwatersrand Cum Laude. She worked in both public and private practices in Johannesburg before joining the Intercare dental team. Dr Ahmed enjoys treating patients in all phases of dentistry, including treatment through clear aligners. She believes through a holistic, patient-centred, and results-orientated approach, one can deliver a comfortable and successful treatment experience. Dr Kulsum enjoys travelling and spending quality time with loved ones in her spare time.

With a calm and friendly approach, she strives to create a relaxed environment where every patient feels at ease. Dr De Canha Reis enjoys reading and spending time outdoors with her family.
