Our General Practitioners can assist in assessing your current health status and identifying risk factors through a review of your medical and family history and a physical examination. Blood tests, X-rays and ECG’s are also conveniently located in the same facility and may be used by the doctor as part of your check-up. Many medical aids also pay for an annual basic check-up by a dentist, which are part of the Intercare service offering. It is always best however to first contact your medical scheme to determine if you are covered. Many of our General Practitioners have completed specialized qualifications in the management of diabetes and most of our centres are accredited by the Centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology (CDE). We offer our diabetic patients a convenient and comprehensive service with the doctor, pathology services and a dietician all located under one roof. Some practices are closely associated with podiatrists and ophthalmologists, allowing our patients to easily access these important services. Our practices also employ specialist diabetic nurses who support you in following your personalized treatment plan by helping coordinate your care, and empower you and your caregivers with all the knowledge you need to effectively manage your condition via practical education and discussions.
