Dr Nikki Kennedy qualified from the Wits Medical School. She has years of clinical experience in all fields of general practice and has a particular interest in paediatrics, cardio-respiratory medicine, women’s health and a newer field of functional/ integrated medicine. Dr Kennedy is passionate about optimizing health and well-being and finds a balance between the conventional and holistic approach to medical care.
Book nowDr Ilana Joubert (MBChB) graduated from the University of Pretoria, she also did an advance course in diabetic care and postgraduate degree in general practice. Dr Joubert has special interests in paediatrics, women’s health and diabetes.

After her internship and community service and working in the UK she came home to work at the Red Cross Children’s Hospital (first as SHO then registrar) for two and a half years. Dr. Du Preez then moved to trauma as a Casualty Officer at a Private Hospital for a year before doing a brief stint as a ship surgeon on the RMS St Helena. She started as one of the original doctors’ at Intercare Blaauwberg in 2004 and has been a valuable part of the team since then. She has always enjoyed sports, particularly running but has recently turned to Triathlon and has completed a few Ironman 70.3 events ( two of which international). She loves animals, reading and traveling.
Book nowDr Christa de Wit obtained the MBChB degree cum laude from the University of Stellenbosch and has an honours degree in pharmacology. She completed a Foundation Course in the care of type 2 diabetes from the Centre of Diabetes and Endocrinology and is particularly interested in this field. Dr de Wit also completed courses in aesthetic medicine and offers Botox™ treatments. She enjoys performing minor in-room surgical procedures, including excision of small skin lesions and cysts.
Book nowDr de Klerk (MBBCh) graduated from Wits University in 1993, after which he worked in the UK for 5 years in Psychiatry, Casualty and Oncology hospital departments. He has a keen interest in the emotional wellbeing of people as this is often overlooked and undertreated, and is well versed in treating depression and anxiety disorders. Tennis, road running and mountain biking are his after-hour interests and he likes guitaring and singing.
Book nowDr Vivienne Behrens graduated from the University of Pretoria in 1986. After internship, she spent 2 years as a Medical Officer at Addington Hospital in Durban. She joined Intercare Blaauwberg in 2004 as a valuable team member and manages the Travel Clinic at the branch. She competes in a range of sporting activities, including The Alzheimer’s Awareness Challenge which aims to encourage older people to get active to slow down or prevent the onset of this debilitating disease. Dr Behrens has a passion for high mountains and has climbed Kilimanjaro. She also enjoys visiting game parks.

After graduating he worked at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Johannesburg for 2 years before pursuing a career in Family Medicine. He relocated to Cape Town and has been in private practice since 1998. He also held a part-time lecturer post at the University of Cape Town Family Medicine Division for many years. In 2005 he obtained a Family Medicine Diploma cum laude from Stellenbosch University. In 2018 he obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Diabetes with distinction from the University of South Wales. Dr Ramjee is also a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians (South Africa). In 2016 he joined the Intercare group practice in Cape Town where he works as a Family Physician. Dr Ramjee also serves on the Intercare Clinical Advisory Committee.
Book nowDr Saville Furman (MBChB FCFP(SA)) graduated from the University of Cape Town in 1973. He was awarded the Boz Fehler Fellowship in 1991 for furthering Continuing Medical Education of General Practitioners in South Africa. Previously Dr Furman was a lecturer at UCT and his current involvement in the community includes giving talks to colleagues at hospitals, schools and senior citizens.
