In-practice Terms of Service

Dear Patient

Intercare is committed to managing your personal information in accordance with the POPIA. We have specific processes in place regarding how we collect, process, share, and keep your personal information. Detail is available on the homepage of our website under Privacy Policy.

For your convenience, Intercare offers longer hours during the week, and our facilities are also open on weekends and public holidays. An after-hours fee (Code 0148) might be charged for consultations after-hours on weekdays and on weekends and public holidays. The after-hours fee (Code 0148) is not covered by most medical schemes and patients will be liable for payment.

This is a cashless facility – card payments and most medical aids are accepted.

A consultation fee may be charged for bookings not cancelled two (2) hours before the confirmed booking time slot and appointments not kept.

Overview

Intercare George is a trusted medical centre, offering compassionate, family-friendly care from experienced general practitioners. We provide a comprehensive range of services, from everyday consultations and chronic disease management to immunisations, wellness screenings and minor procedures. We accept most major medical schemes, and online bookings and walk-ins are welcome.

And there's more to come: Intercare George is moving to a brand-new, state-of-the-art Medical & Dental Centre at One York Medical Centre, 1 York Street, from August 2026. The new centre brings medical and dental care, plus on-site X-rays and pathology, together under one roof, open every day with ample parking. Same trusted care. More space. More services. More convenience.

Both are welcome. Book online for a standard 15-minute GP consultation, or walk in and we'll assist you as soon as possible.

Yes, we accept most major medical schemes. This is a cashless facility: card and medical scheme payments only (no cash).

Yes, we welcome private patients. You can consult a doctor and pay by card at the practice.

Yes, our medical centre is open every day with extended hours. An after-hours fee (Code 0148) may apply after 17:00 on weekdays, and on Saturdays after 13:00, Sundays and public holidays; it is not covered by most medical schemes.

On-site radiology (X-rays) and pathology (blood tests) will be offered from August 2026 at our new location, which will let you complete diagnostics during the same visit.

Travel health services will be offered from August 2026, provided by our accredited travel medicine practitioner, Dr Mia van Wyk. Please contact the practice for availability.

Online bookings are limited to standard 15-minute GP consultations. For other services, contact the practice directly.

If clinically appropriate, the doctor will issue a prescription during your visit, and can refer you to an appropriate specialist if needed.
