Dr Eljoh Lombard graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2011. She joined Intercare as a general practitioner after completing her internship and community service. As a mother of two busy boys, Dr Lombard is passionate about paediatrics and the medical management of young families. She takes the time to educate patients about their specific conditions and how to manage them, as she believes understanding one's condition is crucial to managing it better. She enjoys being active, baking and spending quality time with her family.

Dr Mandi Lategan holds a BSc in Medical Sciences from the University of Pretoria and completed her medical degree at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, graduating summa cum laude. She has a particular interest in women’s health and is committed to providing personalised, empathetic care that supports women throughout their healthcare journeys. Dr Lategan enjoys working with young families and has a strong focus on paediatric care, aiming to foster healthy development and lasting, positive health habits in children. She is passionate about mental health advocacy and strives to create a supportive space for patients navigating emotional and psychological challenges. Dr Lategan enjoys painting and baking in her free time.

Dr Conrad De Klerk

Dr de Klerk (MBBCh) graduated from Wits University in 1993, after which he worked in the UK for 5 years in Psychiatry, Casualty and Oncology hospital departments. He has a keen interest in the emotional wellbeing of people as this is often overlooked and undertreated, and is well versed in treating depression and anxiety disorders. Tennis, road running and mountain biking are his after-hour interests and he likes guitaring and singing.

Dr Christa de Wit obtained the MBChB degree cum laude from the University of Stellenbosch and has an honours degree in pharmacology. She completed a Foundation Course in the care of type 2 diabetes from the Centre of Diabetes and Endocrinology and is particularly interested in this field. Dr de Wit also completed courses in aesthetic medicine and offers Botox™ treatments. She enjoys performing minor in-room surgical procedures, including excision of small skin lesions and cysts.

Dr Wiehann Boshoff graduated from the University of the Free State. Before relocating to South Africa, he worked in the United Kingdom for three years, mainly in surgery and orthopaedics. Dr Boshoff is particularly interested in minor surgical procedures and is passionate about primary care.

Graduated from UCT Medical school in 1998. After her internship and community service and working in the UK she came home to work at the Red Cross Children’s Hospital (first as SHO then registrar) for two and a half years. Dr. Du Preez then moved to trauma as a Casualty Officer at a Private Hospital for a year before doing a brief stint as a ship surgeon on the RMS St Helena. She started as one of the original doctors’ at Intercare Blaauwberg in 2004 and has been a valuable part of the team since then. She has always enjoyed sports, particularly running but has recently turned to Triathlon and has completed a few Ironman 70.3 events ( two of which international). She loves animals, reading and traveling.

Dr Diana Griffiths completed her medical degree at The University of Stellenbosch. She has a Diploma in Child Health and particular interests in Paediatrics, Integrative Medicine, Mental Health, Women’s Health, and HIV. She has a gentle and caring manner and is passionate about medicine. She believes in a holistic approach to health and is an avid diagnostician. Before medicine, she was also a professional ballet dancer for Cape Town City Ballet. Her previous degrees include a BMus Honours Cum Laude (UCT) and a BA (Rhodes University). She enjoys dancing, yoga, traveling, and snorkeling during her time off.

Dr Neil Richards (MBChB) received his medical degree in 1993, he also received a diploma in emergency care and obstetrics. Dr Richards has a special interest in family medicine and enjoys sports and travelling in his free time. Dr Richards also has a fellowship in family medicine.

Dr Van Niekerk has been a general practitioner for thirty years, fifteen of whom were at Irene Intercare in Pretoria. He has worked in South Africa, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Indonesia, and, most recently, Russia. He is particularly interested in men’s health, asthma, and paediatric medicine. He believes that being a GP is a calling rather than a profession. Dr Van Niekerk is a keen but average runner, swimmer, and cycler, believing exercise to be a medicine of the highest efficacy. He is passionate about art and painting and enjoys drawing in his free time.

Dr Nikki Kennedy qualified from the Wits Medical School. She has years of clinical experience in all fields of general practice and has a particular interest in paediatrics, cardio-respiratory medicine, women’s health and a newer field of functional/ integrated medicine. Dr Kennedy is passionate about optimizing health and well-being and finds a balance between the conventional and holistic approach to medical care.

Dr Francois Slabbert

General medical practitioner

Dr Francois Slabbert qualified from the Medical University of South Africa. He also completed a Diploma in Primary Emergency Care at the College of Medicine of South Africa. He was part of the medical team on various international cruise ships and later worked at the emergency centres of Mediclinic Cape Gate and Netcare Blaauwberg Hospitals. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with family and playing golf.
