Meet Pieter van den Bergh, Dentist at Intercare Woodhill
Finding a dentist you feel comfortable with can make an important difference to how you approach your oral health. For patients and families looking for a dentist in Pretoria East, Pieter van den Bergh provides patient-centred dental care at Intercare Woodhill.
Pieter believes that a healthy smile is about more than teeth. Good dental care can contribute to confidence and overall wellbeing, which is why he places the individual patient at the centre of each visit.
A gentle, patient-centred approach to dentistry
For Pieter, excellent dentistry starts with listening. Every patient arrives with different needs, concerns and goals, and he believes it is important to take the time to understand them.
His approach is gentle and thorough, with an emphasis on helping patients feel comfortable throughout their dental experience. This is particularly important for people who may feel nervous or anxious about visiting the dentist.
Whether a patient needs help maintaining their oral health or requires care for a dental concern, Pieter aims to create a positive environment where patients feel heard and supported.
Building trust with patients and families
A strong relationship between a patient and their dentist can support better long-term dental care.
Pieter's goal is to develop lasting relationships with his patients based on trust, honesty and genuine care. Rather than viewing dental care as a series of individual appointments, he values getting to know his patients and understanding what matters to them.
This approach can be especially valuable for families who want to establish an ongoing relationship with a dentist who understands their dental needs over time.
A commitment to continued learning
Dentistry continues to develop, and Pieter values keeping his knowledge and skills current. He enjoys expanding his understanding of modern dentistry so that he can provide thoughtful, high-quality care to his patients.
His interest in dentistry comes from its unique combination of science, precision and working closely with people.
Precision and creativity beyond dentistry
Outside the practice, Pieter enjoys building and working on RC cars. The hobby reflects his appreciation for attention to detail, problem-solving and understanding how individual components work together.
He also enjoys playing golf and spending time outdoors.
Art is another important interest, including painting, sculpture, design, photography and creative craftsmanship. Pieter feels that this appreciation for creativity complements dentistry, where precision, balance and attention to detail are also important.
