FAQs for Referring Specialists

1. What is the referral process?

Once the case manager receives the referral, a bed assessment will be conducted for the patient in the acute hospital. The required information will be gathered and coordinated with the relevant medical scheme to obtain authorisation. The referring specialist will be notified, as well as the hospital ward staff, as soon as authorisation is secured for the patient's transfer. The patient's family will be informed about the arrangements for the transfer.

2. How quickly can a patient be admitted?
Our case manager coordinates
authorisation and transfer from the acute hospital promptly after referral.
