An orthopaedic surgeon by background, Dr Theron has over 23 years of experience and specialises in spinal rehabilitation, physical medicine, and recovery-focused care. Dr Theron provides clinical oversight, leadership and supervision to the doctors at Intercare Irene (IRPR) and Hazeldean (HZPR) Physical Rehabilitation Hospitals, who operate under his guidance. He is not based full-time at the facilities; his role is to support and supervise the on-site clinical teams, helping maintain a consistently high standard of recovery-focused care across both hospitals. For patients and referring professionals alike, that experienced oversight offers reassurance that care is led by deep specialist knowledge.

Dr Theron's expertise extends well beyond Intercare.
