Can I get a repeat prescription?

Repeat contraceptive prescriptions may be provided. Generally, repeat prescriptions for chronic medications are not offered via online consultations when the professional is not your regular treating provider. Short tie-over scripts may be provided until patients can seek care at their regular doctor, subject to the discretion of the online professional.

When is an On-Demand Online Consultation not suitable?

On-demand online consultations are not suitable in the following cases, and care should be sought in-person:

  • Patients located outside of South Africa.
  • For emergencies or potentially severe injuries or symptoms.
  • Persistent or recurring issues despite treatment.
  • Very young (<2 years), elderly (>65 years), and pregnant patients.
  • Moderate to severe injuries (e.g., vehicle accidents, suspected fractures, stab wounds, or large cuts).
  • Difficulty breathing, chest pain, coughing up blood.
  • Blood in stool or urine.
  • Neurological symptoms (e.g., numbness, paralysis, difficulty speaking, visual disturbances).
  • Patients with multiple chronic conditions or significant health issues.
  • Patients requiring scripts for psychiatric medication, sleeping pills, or high-schedule pain medication.
  • If a prior consultation for the problem has not led to improvement.
  • If you prefer to see a specific doctor.
