Dr Leon Jooste initiated his tertiary studies at Stellenbosch University with a Bachelor’s in Agriculture (Enology & Viticulture) and also obtained a Master’s degree in Agriculture (Plant Physiology). He subsequently returned to full-time study in dentistry at Stellenbosch University and received a BChD degree.
In 1988 he went into private practice in Pietermaritzburg. Dr Jooste continued his professional training with Skip Truitt in fixed orthodontic therapy, maxillo-facial orthopaedics and orthodontics and attended an international congress in temporomandibular joint disorders.
Dr Jooste is keenly interested in airway dentistry and has prepared and delivered a talk to the local dental study group on the “Unexpected cause of ADHD”. He is passionate about prevention as the best form of treatment.
