In-practice Terms of Service
Dear Patient
At Intercare we strive to put our patients first in all we do. The infection prevention and control requirements of healthcare facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic extend beyond established standards and have necessitated the implementation of many additional measures to keep you, your family members and our teams safe during this time.
In addition to the normal consultation fee, a nominal fee will be added to each consultation to help fund these additional precautions. Please note that while most medical schemes cover this fee from day-to-day benefits, patients will remain liable for payment should it not be settled by the scheme.
Regular check-ups are an important part of maintaining good health and can prevent serious illnesses. We welcome you for all general medical services including annual check-ups, chronic illness management, pathology, physiotherapy, radiology and COVID-19 care and treatment. It is equally critical to ensure that chronic conditions are well controlled and not neglected, as poorly controlled chronic conditions such as asthma, hypertension and diabetes add to the risk of getting serious complications from COVID-19.
For your convenience, Intercare offers longer hours during the week, and our facilities are also open on weekends and public holidays. An after-hours fee (Code 0148) might be charged for consultations after 17:00 on weekdays and on weekends and public holidays. The after-hours fee (Code 0148) is not covered by most medical schemes and patients will be liable for payment.
Code 0146 is charged for medical emergencies and these consultations and procedures are covered by medical schemes from day-to-day benefits and not from the medical savings account. Please note that Code 0146 is not restricted to after-hours consultations and may be charged for medical emergencies at any time of the day.
Kindly contact the practice manager for any enquiries.
